District Profile

West Muskingum Local Schools, located approximately 55 miles east of Columbus just off interstate 70 in Muskingum County, offers a unique blend of rural and suburban neighborhoods. The district serves approximately 1,568 students in Muskingum and Licking counties. The district is approximately 81 square miles and includes both Falls and Hopewell townships. 

The district facilities consists of four school buildings housing students in a 9-12 high school, a 5-8 middle school, a PreK-3 elementary school and a K-4 elementary school. The district is excited to announce a new elementary construction project with an anticipated completion date of summer 2016. The new facility, West Muskingum Elementary, will combine the two existing elementary buildings into a single facility, which will be located on the existing middle and high school campus. The district has worked with the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission to construct a new high school, renovate an existing middle school and the construction of the new elementary will complete the original Master Plan.
